Understanding dental results

What these images
can tell you.

Before-and-after photographs can make changes in tooth shape, colour, spacing, surface texture and overall balance easier to understand. They can also show the difference between a starting point and a completed stage of care more clearly than a treatment name alone. The images on this page are individual practice cases shared to help patients discuss possibilities with greater context.

They are not a prediction of another person's result. Teeth, gums, bite, bone support, existing dental work and oral health differ from one patient to the next. Personal priorities also matter. A treatment that is appropriate for one smile may be unsuitable, unnecessary or less conservative for another. Results and maintenance needs can therefore vary even when two concerns appear similar in a photograph.

A clinical examination is needed before any recommendation. Dr Shweta considers the health of the teeth and gums, the cause of the concern, the bite, available healthy tooth tissue and the likely long-term maintenance. Relevant imaging or digital records may be advised where clinically appropriate. This assessment helps distinguish between options such as preventive care, a tooth-coloured restoration, root canal care, alignment, whitening, bonding or another carefully planned approach.

Patient privacy remains important when clinical images are used. These cases are presented with consent and without adding personal details that are not necessary to understand the visible dental change. Timelines shown with individual cases are contextual rather than promises. The purpose of the gallery is to support an informed conversation, not to guarantee an identical result.
